Camp NaNoWriMo!!!

Hey everyone! (:

I know it has been forever since I posted here, and for that I really am sorry! I have thought back and forth about closing the blog down, but now that I have something to update the blog with, it will stay up. (: So you might have looked at the title, and went, "What the heck is that?" Kinda an odd title, huh? Well here is some background on Camp NaNoWriMo.

In order to have any idea what Camp NaNo is, you have to know what NaNo is in general. Here is a basic idea of this madness.

"National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing on November 1. The goal is to write a 50,000 word, (approximately 175 page) novel by 11:59:59, November 30."

Now you see why I chose the word "madness"? It seem to fit the bill. Who is this for? Here is some more information taken from the site.

"NaNoWriMo is a novel-writing program for everyone who has thought fleetingly about writing a novel but has been scared away by the time and effort involved."

So now that you know a little more about what NaNo is, feel free to check out the official website here. So you might be wondering why I am telling you all about this. Well, I decided to participate this year. I wanted to participate in the actual NaNo last year, but found out about it too late. But you may have noticed that the actual NaNo is in November. That's a long time away. So as you can imagine, I was so excited to find out that they were starting a summer camp! Over the month of July and August, they will be having NaNo! (: Camp NaNo is exactly the same thing as NaNo, just being held in a different month then November. So I have officially jumped on the band wagon to participate in camp going on this next July.(next month) I decided that I will use my blog to keep everyone updated on how my word count and writing goals go. There is something about being help accountable that helps writers, well...write. I know we are about a week away or so now from "Camp" but if you want to join me in this insane madness, feel free to go ahead! But let me know you decided to join! I think this will be a lot of fun, but maybe I'm just crazy. Looking forward to keeping you all updated this next month. (:

Does anyone want to join me in this crazy month? If so, let me know using the contact form at the top of the blog, I would love to have someone to do this craziness with! :)

  1. I'm looking forward to reading about your progress on the NaNoWriMo! I'm not really interested in doing it myself (any book I would write would consist of characters just eating chocolate and knitting...yeah..)but I really like it when blog authors post their progress on their blog. :)

  2. Thank you for your support! That really means a lot. :) Well you never know, some of the best books just might contain the characters sitting around eating chocolate eventually. ;) That's awesome to hear your feedback though! If everything goes well I think I will at least be updating the blog every week if not every day on my progress. :) And when NaNo is all done, I have been looking into the Blog Challenge to maybe get me back into blogging every day for a month. So we'll see what happens. :) Thanks again for your support!
